She's a survivor who lived it and learned from it. Her
memoir also demonstrates that Judy Garland, despite public
myth, was NOT the tragic figure portrayed in so many other
books. She was a passionate person with an
incredible sense of humor and a mother unconditionally devoted
to her kids.

ABC-Television
aired a
4 hour television miniseries based on the first half of Lorna's memoir.
She served as Co-Executive Producer. Spanning Garland's life
from the 1930s until her death, LIFE WITH JUDY GARLAND: ME
AND MY SHADOWS eschews the standard practice of depicting
its flawed subject as a tragic victim of fame and instead
paints an intensely real picture of Ms. Garland as a brilliant
performer and a loving mother.
Everyone involved
in the miniseries credit Lorna who contributed tremendously to
the understanding of Judy Garland, and whose presence on the
set proved priceless and John Fricke for his wealth of
knowledge on Garland's career and for access to the
outstanding collection of memorabilia housed in his New York
studio.
Upon it's initial airing in February 2001
LIFE WITH JUDY GARLAND garnered the
highest ratings of the year. Newcomer Tammy
Blanchard played Garland from the ages of 13 to 18 and Oscar nominee Judy Davis
played the adult Garland
and BOTH won Emmy's for their performances. The miniseries
nabbed several other prominent awards including 3 additional
Emmy's. After the
U.S. airing of the miniseries Lorna's memoir, ME AND MY SHADOWS, once
again entered the best-seller list.

Through a
joint arrangement with Lorna's favorite charity,
The Children's Wish Foundation International,
the production team of LIFE WITH JUDY GARLAND cast a
few Wish Children in the miniseries.
The magnificent
sets, stages and wardrobe were created just 8 weeks before the
start of principal photography.
Lorna and her
husband both make cameo appearances in the miniseries.
Did you spot them? Colin appears
as the orchestra leader in the scene where "Mickey & Judy"
perform Good Morning while on a personal appearance tour and Lorna appears in the crowd during the A Star Is
Born premiere. Look closely, she can be seen next to the limo as
"Judy" exits the car to walk the red carpet.
